Linsey Orion Slater, age 46, a resident of the Colville, WA area, died by suicide on Mar. 18, 2025 at her home. Linsey was born on May 24, 1978 in Wheatridge, CO the daughter of James and Debbie (Coziah) Moore.
Linsey resided in several communities growing up. The majority of her schooling was completed in the Stanwood WA school district. She soon began a family and worked long days to ensure their needs were met. Linsey also supported her children's educational development by providing one-on-one attention with their home schooling. They resided in Western Washington with a short time in Florida. Before moving to Colville she provided the in-home adult care for her parent in-laws with Alzheimer's and significant health needs. While in Colville she took care of her family and worked for a time at Safeway as the grocery manager. Linsey married Warner Slater on January 28, 2023. They dove and traveled the world, mountain biked Washington, worked hard developing three properties, and shared in friendship and love since their lives merged.
Linsey was an incredible artist with unlimited talent. Her art forms went from sewing to give her a ball of alpaca fur and a month later you'd have the softest scarfs. She'd create breathtaking pieces of glass art with her kilns, illuminating her love for life in stained glass. Linsey creatively was everywhere a glass butterfly on a tree, small painting in the corner of a room little homemade frog she put in the creek the fire pit you sat in front of while watching the northern lights Linsey's heart and hand was there.
As a young woman, she was introduced to grief with the loss of a child, the burden was heavy and reflected in her life's journey to offer care and comfort to others, no matter her own personal sacrifice. She loved her children without end, they were her everything and she cherished the moments spent together with them. She poured the light from within her life into all souls willing to receive her love. Linsey is dearly loved and immeasurably missed.
Linsey actively supported community programs. In the past Onion Creek school, 100 stockings children's program. And was an active member of Stevens County Dive Team Search and Recovery.
She was preceded in death by her first child, Alexandra.
Linsey is survived by her husband, Warner Slater, at the home; 3 children, Seven Holguin and wife Sue Jean of Lake Stevens, WA, R. J. Moore and his wife Sofia, of Colville WA, and Mia Moore of Colville, WA; brothers Josh Moore, wife Randi, and young daughter Scout, and brother Michael Moore of Lake Stevens, WA and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held at the river property 3839 N. Hwy 25 Northport WA 99157, 2 p.m. April 5th 2025. Memorial contributions may be given to the Stevens County Dive Team, P.O. Box 487, Kettle Falls, WA 99141.
