Lisa (Erickson) Bye, 53, of Highlands Ranch, CO, lived a beautiful life that was tragically cut short by the illness and actions of her husband on May 7, 2024.
Lisa Ruth Erickson was born on February 1, 1971, in St. Paul, MN, to Leon D. and Kathryn (Thykeson) Erickson. Raised in Warren, she graduated from Warren High School in 1989. While in school, she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen- a young woman whom others looked up to. As a senior she began dating Junior, Jason Bye. The two married while still in college on December 19, 1992. Lisa completed her Bachelors Degree at Concordia College, Moorhead in 1993 and the young couple lived in Fargo. She worked for Pepsi for years and nurtured her lifelong gift for numbers. Despite having a seemingly dull desk job managing spreadsheets (which made her very happy), Lisa was a creative person at heart. She excelled at calligraphy and scrapbooking, using these gifts to create many keepsakes her family and friends still treasure today. She also enjoyed shopping and always seemed to look "put together" no matter the occasion.
In 2007, Lisa and Jason relocated to Colorado- a place they had always hoped to live. She had a great love for God's creation, and even recently received a promotion at her work, United Dominion Realty, that earned her a large window overlooking the Rockies (though a view with a beach and palm trees would be better!). She and Jason were inseparable- both at home and abroad. She was cajoled into a mission trip to Burkina Faso, west Africa, and this trip became the first of many. For over a decade, Jason did the tech work at the mission school while Lisa "loved on" the children and families served by the Gospel through Community Bible Study International.
The Lord was central to her life and she radiated His love through her ability to say the right thing at the right time and her openness to gracefully accept life's challenges. Made more apparent in this most recent tragedy, Lisa knows that death doesn't have the final say: nothing can separate any of us from the love of God.
Lisa is survived by her parents, Leon and Kathryn Erickson; brother, David (Erika) Erickson; niece and nephew, Kaden Pierce and Leah Erickson; several uncles, aunts, cousins; and the many friends she leaves behind in Warren, Colorado, and abroad.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oscar and Gladys Erickson, and Eberhard and Olga Thykeson; uncle and aunts, Kenneth (Shirley) Thykeson, Ruth Hagen, Janice Thykeson, and Coralyn Sedlacek; and her beagles, Leo and Lily.

I worked as the Corporate Receptionist at Modivcare while Jason was in IT. Lisa was the sweetest person and wife. She would come in to bring him things from home and surprised him with flowers and treats for his birthday. She was crazy about him and lit up any room she walked into. I'm truly grieved by this loss and can't express my deepest sympathies for the hole this must create in those who were close to her.
