Lisa Christine Mulcahy Gettier

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Lisa, who died too soon on December 9, 2025, in a pedestrian traffic accident.
Lisa was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on November 13, 1971, and spent her life cultivating joy and warmth. She graduated from May Street School, Forest Grove Junior High and Doherty Memorial High School and received her B.S. in Hotel Restaurant Tourism Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her greatest happiness was the loving family she created.
Lisa and Kevin spent many years together working in the restaurant industry. In their off time they enjoyed long walks on the Virginia Beach boardwalk and enjoyed the wild flowers at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Kevin Gettier, and their cherished son, Benjamin. She is also survived by her father, Daniel Mulcahy; her sisters Julie (Mulcahy) Kelly, and Kerry Mulcahy. She leaves behind her mother-in-law Judi, her father-in-law Glenn and her brother-in-law Michael. Lisa will be greatly missed by her cousins, nephews, niece and extended family. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Donna.
Her legacy lives on in the kindness she showed to strangers, the love she poured into her family, her friends and especially her son Ben.
Services:
A wake will be held this Sunday, December 14th from 2-4pm at Princess Anne Chapel/Colonial Grove Memorial Park at 3445 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach 23456 and a funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 1:30PM in the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Virginia Beach SPCA, a cause dear to her heart.
