Lisa Marie Ory

Lisa Marie Ory, a cherished resident of New Orleans, answered the call to eternal peace
on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the age of 66. The youngest of eight, she was born on
January 19, 1959, to the late Wilbert and Mildred Cureaux Ory.
After graduating from Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1977, Lisa was employed at the
New Orleans International Airport and the Times-Picayune. In 1982, she married
Guillermo Rigunis, and together they ventured into entrepreneurship by opening Café
Ruth. In 1990, Lisa became a loving mother, keeping her precious daughter close to her
heart.
Lisa is survived by her devoted daughter, Rana Lace Francois (Kerry); her sister, Mary
"Clyde" Reyes; her brother, Larry Ory (the late Juanita Ory); her Godfather, Leo
Nocentelli; her Godmother, Aloma L. Shelton; Godchildren, Donna Silva-Vargas, Marcia
"precious" Silva and a host of loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews,
cousins, and friends. She will be deeply missed by her dog, Chi-Chi, and all who knew
her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Mildred Ory; her sisters, Phyllis
Ory, Gail Ory Granado, and Adrian "Lula" Ory; her brothers, Wilbert Ory Jr. and Dwight
Ory; and her aunts, Earline C. Nocentelli and Rita Banks.
A celebration of Lisa's life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Shrine of St. Jude
Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. and continue until 10:00 A.M.,
followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. Joseph
Garden Mausoleum, St. Roch Cemetery #2.
