Llewellyn Baldwin "Lou" Tannery

Obituary
Mrs. Llewellyn "Lou" Baldwin Tannery, 87, passed away Saturday March 25, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born August 20, 1935 in Newhall, WV, the daughter of David and Jennie Brewster Baldwin. She was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, where she loved to bake for the members and was retired from Hanes Brands after 40 years of service. Lou enjoyed gardening and baking, but especially enjoyed spoiling her family members who she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Benson Tannery; a son, David Ray Pruitt and her six siblings, Izona Simpson, Jacqueline Baldwin, Albert Baldwin, Arthur Baldwin, Andrew Baldwin and Fred Baldwin. Survivors include her two granddaughters, Angela McDaniel (Jim Campbell) and Cristy Pruitt both of Tazewell, VA.; her four sisters, Lucille Weaver of Midway, Rebecca Muncy of Argillite, KY, Mary Bauguess of King and Bernice Gillespie of Elkin; three great grandsons, Tyler Wright, Ethan McDaniel and Brayden Hinkle; fourteen nieces and six nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Oaklawn Baptist Church with Pastor Jay Boyce and Pastor Paula Baldwin officiating. Burial will be held at Baldwin Family Cemetery, Newhall, WV on Saturday. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
