Lloyd (Danny) Henry Englebrecht, 96, of Farmington, NM passed away in his home on the evening of April 10, 2024. He was born December 1, 1927 in Albuquerque, NM to Laura Englebrecht. He met the Love of his life when they both attended El Rito Boarding/High School in El Rito, NM. Lloyd was very active throughout his life and was a member of his high school State Champion basketball team and boxer, which is where he received his nickname “Danny”. Danny and Dorothy were later married and had three daughters - Cindy, Karen & Diana. During which time Danny enlisted in the Army National Guard (May of 1951- January 1953) and was in the Korean War. After his time in the military Danny was an avid bowler, pilot, race car driver, but most notable is his legacy of starting and maintaining a floor covering store in Farmington in 1963, Lloyds Carpets and Draperies which is still in business today. Lloyd was a member of the Elks Lodge, a Mason and a Shriner. His legacy will forever be remembered.
Lloyd was proceeded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy Englebrecht, and daughter Karen Englebrecht. He is survived by two daughters: Cindy Crook and husband/son in law Don Crook and daughter Diana Olson and husband/son in law Dick Olson. He was a proud grand-father to Lynn Crook, Susan Crook (great grandchildren Michael, Rashad, and Dante Williams), Daniele Watson husband Clay Watson and great granddaughter Melea, Nicholas Chamberlain and wife Taylor Chamberlain and great grand granddaughter Lyla. Lloyd further leaves numerous extended family members and loved ones.
Services will be held Friday, May 3rd, 2024 at 2:oo pm at the Farmington Elks Lodge.
Interment: Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 2:00 pm, Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Manual Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.
