Logan R. Hill passed away on December 14, 2023. He was born in 1936 in Altoona, PA and grew up in Bellefonte and Spring Mills, PA. Logan was preceded in death by his sons Kenneth R. Hill and Brian G. Hill, his brother Anson "Butch" Hill, and by his parents Anne (Ward) Hill and L. Russell Hill. He is survived by his daughter Linda J. "AJ" Hill, and his wife, Mona J. (Sweet) Hill, and a brother and his wife, Ward and Edith Hill.
Logan graduated from the Gregg Township High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he earned his BS and MEd in Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University.
His love of music showed through in the excellent bands he directed and students he taught at the Bald Eagle High School and the Fairmont School in the State College Area School District. Logan loved the many years he spent singing in and serving as assistant director of the State College Nittany Knights Barbershop Chorus, where he sang in several barbershop quartets, with Logan's Heroes lasting the longest. For several years he also enjoyed directing the Altoona Horseshoe Chorus.
Logan was an avid photographer, enjoyed flying a single propeller airplane for many years, and was active in the State College Sports Car Club. Lifelong interests included vintage sport and classic cars, traveling with family and friends, Penn State football, and repairing and building anything he could get his hands on! Logan was a life member of the Penn State Alumnae Association, and multiple Masonic organizations, including State College Lodge 700 F. & A.M. (Free Mason), Nittany Council #57, Consistory in Altoona, Constans Commandery No. 33, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and Bellefonte Royal Arch Chapter.
Despite having a severe stroke during surgery, Logan had a cheerful and friendly demeanor, having never given up at therapy. His family is grateful for the kind, excellent care he received from his doctors Jeffery Baker, E.P. Roy, and Gregory Billy, his therapists John Fisher, Dean Plafcan, Janet Pennington, Jim Puder, and his coach, Steve Jury, and the wonderful support staffs at Penn State Medicine and Physical Therapy, D-Stress Station, and Victory Sports.
Friends and family will be received at St. John's UCC, 218 N. Church Street, Boalsburg, PA on Saturday, January 13, 2023, from 10am – 11am. A Masonic Funeral Service will be held at 11am with the memorial service immediately following. Pastor Rev. Dr. Thomas Blair will be officiating. Logan was always a pleasure to see coming back the PT hall. We always got a good morning even though it was afternoon when he came in. His love for coffee will also be something we will remember. He was very sweet and is missed.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Logan. He was our beloved brother-law and a treasured loving uncle to our children, Lisa and Bill. Through the years we enjoyed many camping trips and family gatherings. Logan was always happy, kind, and a joy to be around. We extend our deepest sympathy to Mona and Linda as they go down this difficult road.
With love,
Bonnie and Joe DeMarco

Sending condolences to Logan's family.
Our memory of Logan goes back to high school days at Gregg Twp High School, as we were known as GTVS class of 1954. We were a close- knit class. Logan left High school our senior year to enlist in the navy. We kept in touch through the years including after his stroke. A great friend and may memories help you get through this sad time. Blessings, Mary Long Auman and Frank Auman
