Lois Cranford Obituary

She was born on January 30, 1934, in Peoria, IL, to Earl and Velma Morris. Lois married Arthur H. Cranford on January 30, 1955, and they were married nearly 67 years before he preceded her in January of 2022.
Lois is survived by two sons, Steven (Bill Lane) Cranford of Defiance, MO and Kevin Cranford of Peoria Heights, IL; three grandchildren: Corey (Brittany) Hammerton, Alexis Hammerton, and Jack Hammerton; and two great-granddaughters, Indie and Shiloh.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon "Sheri" Hammerton; sister, Shirley Hisler; and brother, Michael Morris.
Lois was a secretary at Peoria Heights High School for many years and ended her career at Caterpillar after 10 years. She attended Peoria Heights Congregational Church where she was a deacon and taught Sunday school.
She and seven of her friends started a pinochle club that met once a month for over 50 years. Lois also enjoyed golfing with her friends and their husbands.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at The Wilton Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation (200 SE 1st St., Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131).
