Lois O. Simons, 92, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at home with her family after a lengthy battle with End Stage Renal Failure.

Lois was born January 14, 1931, in Kaukauna, WI, the daughter of Thurston (Bud) Lambie and Florence (Flo) West Lambie. Lois had rheumatic fever which prevented her from graduating high school. She did later earn a GED certificate from Fox Valley Technical College and demonstrated an awesome mind for math as well as other subjects.

Lois was united in marriage to Gilbert W. Simons on June 30, 1958.

Lois is survived by a daughter Sherry (Oliver) Garcia, son Marty Simons, grandsons Casey Garcia and Nick (Amber) Simons, great grandchildren Trinity and Serenity Simons, and cousin Ken Grode.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Simons, parents Thurston and Florence Lambie, in-laws Chuck and Barbara Timm, brothers Leeland (Nona), Andy (Elaine), Neil (Celesta) Lambie and sister Sally (Mark) Jansen.

Lois will be remembered for her fun-loving smile, a love of playing cards and slot machines, fishing, walking the dog in the cemetery (typically with two cats following) always with multiple baggies in her pocket. Lois was an avid Packers and Brewers fan.

Following Lois’ wishes there will be no service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Lois’ family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the ThedaCare At Home Hospice team for their exceptional compassion and care. Special thanks to her favorite, amazing nurse, Ben, who stayed with Lois and the family to the end.

Ben was amazing; they don’t pay him enough!!

Lois was a wonderful Aunt to us; she had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on to help anyone at any time. She is home now and with her husband Gib. We will miss her very much and we will see her again. Judi and Bill Maas
