Loma Maxine Jackson Beasley, born on January 11, 1942, in Macon, GA, was welcomed by our Lord Jesus Christ on January 8, 2025, to reside with Him and her husband, Don, forever in eternity.
Loma is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Don Beasley, who passed away on November 23, 2024. Also preceded in death by her parents, John Lloyd Jackson and Evelyn Jackson Moore, and her sister Gloria Waldrop Ball.
Loma is survived by her step-son, Keith Beasley (Louise), her daughters, Lani Hassen (Robert) and Lori Roberts (Trevor); her son Darren Beasley (Hope); her grandchildren Taylor Rose Calderon (Garth), Kayleigh Roberts, Bridgette Beasley, Jenna Roberts, Lilliana Roberts, Olivia Beasley, and Lucas Beasley; her great-granddaughter Reggie Ray Calderon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Loma grew up in Macon Georgia and was a graduate of Miller High School in 1960. After graduation, she received her certification as a Radiology Technician. She was employed at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. She later attended Augusta State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse in the Augusta area until retirement in 2005 from the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. Loma was a member of many nursing associations and volunteered with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office for 12 years.
Loma was known for her joyous personality. She enjoyed playing many musical instruments (piano, guitar, autoharp, ukulele, among others) and loved singing in the choir at Mable White Baptist Church while living in Macon, Georgia. Loma was a long-time, faithful member of Warren Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia. She served as a loving Sunday School teacher in the nursery and children's department for 14 years.
She loved attending and participating in all family activities, especially family reunions in Daytona Beach, Florida and Indian Springs, Georgia. "Granny" Loma's love and pride for her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, extended family, and friends was ever present in their lives. She put those she loved first and will be carried to rest by the heavy hearts of all who loved her so dearly.
