Loren “Towne” Abercrombie, 40, a lifelong resident of Espanola, New Mexico, passed away on September 25, 2025.
Towne was born November 9, 1984, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Loren and Lucie Abercrombie.
He was a devoted Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He had a heart of gold and had a special way of touching everyone’s hearts.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Paul and Dorothy Abercrombie, Joe I. and Ramoncita Salazar and Janet Bell; niece Diamond Abercrombie; aunts and uncles Napoleon “Sonny” and Helen Salazar, Eloy and Marylou Salazar, Mary and Benny Serrano, Leroy, Dennis, John Alex and Carolina Salazar, Pamela Galbraith, Lee Padilla, Roy Romero, Kevin and Joseph; cousins Ginger Jaramillo, Brian Abercrombie, Eric, Jennifer, Joseph and Aspen Salazar.
He is survived by the light of his eyes, his sons Toby and Reese Abercrombie; mother to his children Stephanie Hughes; sister Candace Chacon; brother Forrest (Vanessa) Abercrombie; nephews Ryan Chacon and Stone Abercrombie; niece Kyree Chacon; aunts and uncles David Galbraith, Peter (Diane) Abercrombie, Julia (Archie) Jaramillo, Joe I Jr. (Isabel) Salazar, Betty Padilla, Mabel Salazar, Ron Raffensparger, Teresa Romero, Raymond (Therese) Salazar, Daniel (Claudine) Salazar, Annette Joseph, Judy (Leroy) Martinez, and numerous cousins and friends.
Towne was a part of the UA Local 412 Plumbers and Pipefitters and creator of Spanya Lanes Hot Wheels in Espanola. He loved many things, but his favorite was fishing with Toby and spending time with his family and friends. He was also a member of the Men’s ACTS Community with the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Albuquerque.
Services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM, with Public Visitation at 5:00 pm and Rosary to follow.
Mass of Christian burial and Rosary will be held Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10:00 am at the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Abiquiu, NM, with interment at the Youngsville Catholic Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers are Randy Raffensparger, Danny Ray, Jeremy and Joshua Salazar, Kyle Joseph, Forrest Abercrombie, Ryan Chacon and Eric Bustos.
Honorary Pallbearers are Toby and Reese Abercrombie, Stone Abercrombie, Kyree Chacon, Candace Chacon, Kenny Joseph, Raymond Archuleta, Reynaldo Lujan, Diego Salazar, Jerome Jaramillo, and all the Salazar family.
The family of Loren Towne Abercrombie has entrusted the care of their loved ones to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Española Valley 505-747-7477.
