Loretta B. Naples, 81, of Plainville, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, January 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 20, 1943, in New Britain. She was the daughter of the late Angelo J. and Doloresse (Hebert) Bernabucci.
Loretta was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Naples, Jr. for 51 wonderful years until his passing in 2014. She met Joe, her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, at her 16th birthday party. They married when she was 20 and built a beautiful life together in Plainville, where they raised two children and were later blessed with seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Loretta loved to travel and cherished her road trips with family and friends. Some of her favorite destinations included Myrtle Beach, Maine, Cape Cod, and Georgia. She never went anywhere without her trusty atlas, always ready to navigate from the passenger seat with enthusiasm.
She enjoyed many years working alongside her family supporting her sons business, where her natural talent for numbers and financial management contributed greatly to the company.
Lorettas love language was foodwhether it was traveling in search of the perfect lobster roll, watching the Food Channel, or gathering the whole family for weekly Sunday dinners. She was an incredible cook and baker, always putting thought and care into every dish. She made sure everyones preferences were met, often preparing separate batches just to satisfy everyone. For Loretta, food was a way of bringing people together and showing her love.
She also had a strong passion for gardening and created a beautiful vegetable garden in her backyard for the whole family to enjoy. Her favorite meal of the day was breakfast, and she would always look forward to her Harvest Bakery rolls and Dunkin coffee.
Loretta adored her seven grandchildren, and loved watching them grow into the people they are today. She was always their biggest fan, cheering them on at sporting events and celebrating their passions. If the weekends weren't spent cheering on the grandkids, she could be found hunting for treasures at Goodwill, flea markets, or tag sales with her dear friend, Bonnie. She had a passion for collecting and took great joy in sharing her exciting finds with her family. She always loved a good bargain!
For the last five years, Loretta bravely fought against a brain tumor with unwavering strength and resilience. Despite the challenges, she never lost her unfiltered wit. She faced every obstacle with courage, proving time and time again that she was a true fighter.
Loretta is survived by her son Joseph Naples III, and his wife Kathleen of Bristol; her daughter Susan Lancaster and her fianc Glenn Wagner of Southington; grandchildren Ryan Lancaster and his wife Kaitlyn, Timothy Lancaster and his fianc Ally Lund, Rachel Greatorex and her husband Christopher, Joey Naples IV, Samantha Naples, James Naples, and Lauren Naples; great-grandchildren Ethan Lancaster and Liam White-Lancaster; a brother Richard Bernabucci and sister-in-law Rella Bernabucci of Colchester; son-in-law Dan Lancaster of Bristol; close friends Vito and Janis DiPinto, Dorie Augur, Bonnie Carilli and several nieces and nephews.
