Cumberland-Lori-Ann Modert, 54, of Cumberland, passed away at home on Saturday, April 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished wife of Terry L. Modert, with whom she shared 28 years of love and partnership. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late David and Norma Robertson Markarian, both of whom were residents of Cumberland.
Lori was the devoted mother of Jared Wayne and Brittany Grace Modert, and the loving sister of Joy-Ann Markarian, all of Cumberland. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, and extended family who will deeply miss her.
A graduate of Sawyer Business School, Lori worked as a supervisor of audit administration at KLR Accounting Firm in Providence. Outside of her professional career, Lori had a creative spirit-she was a vendor at craft shows, where she sold handmade doll clothes for American Girl Dolls. In her free time, Lori embraced her passions as an herbalist, crafting lotions and homemade salves. She also shared her love of crime shows and interrogations with her daughter, Brittany. Lori enjoyed engaging in the stock market with her son, Jared, and playing Pokémon GO with her husband, Terry.
Lori's legacy is one of warmth, humor, and great love. She leaves behind a family with fifty-five years of cherished memories, each filled with laughter and the light of an extraordinary woman. She now resides in a world without time, pain or sadness. Safely, she arrived into the arms of God. Long ago a poet wrote, "From death thou art, to death returneth, was not spoken of the soul."
At her request, her funeral and burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. To leave a message of condolence, please visit www.bellowsfuneralchapel.com. Arrangements with Bellows Funerals & Cremations, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
