Lori Shackelford Hogge, age 51, of Gloucester, died at her home on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Lori was born on September 16, 1972, and graduated from Gloucester High School in 1990. She has been a county hairstylist since graduation, having worked at Lucille's Hair Salon, Visible Changes, and Kristy's Day Spa, to name a few, and an associate with Headz Up Salon "Hair by Lori." She enjoyed trips to the beach and playing bingo; however, her family was the most important part of her life, and she was a friend to everyone. Her father, James Walter Shackelford, maternal grandparents, Charlie and Edith "Big Momma" Coates, and paternal grandparents, Irvin and Mabel Shackelford, preceded her in death. Lori is survived by her husband, Kennith Wayne Hogge, son Carson Hogge, mother Elaine Shackelford, and siblings Jimmy Dean Shackelford, Joyce West, Bryan Shackelford, Becky Simmons, and Charlotte Yeager. She is also survived by twelve nieces, nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Church,9254 Guinea Road, Hayes, VA 23072, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Bill West. Interment will follow at Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 9117 Glass Road, Hayes, VA 23072.
