Lorna Lorraine Hysmith, 93, of Amarillo, Texas, was born on March 19, 1932 in Beaver, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Loyd Richard "L. R." and Myrtle Della (Courtney) Addis. Lorna Lorraine went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Amarillo Center for Skilled Care, Amarillo, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.

Lorraine attended and graduated from Merritt High School. She married Travis Leroy Hysmith on June 18, 1950, in Elk City, Oklahoma. To this union four children were born son Larry, daughter Connie and twin daughters Diana and Deana. Together they raised their children and shared sixty-five wonderful years of marriage together. Diana preceded her in death on July 8, 2012 and Travis preceded her in death on May 14, 2016.

Lorraine moved to Borger, Texas with Travis for a better living. She was employed for twenty years with the Borger ISD cafeteria, advanced into Borger ISD administration, and then advanced to Hutchinson County Appraisal District where she retired. They lived in Borger, Texas for fifty years; then moved to Amarillo, Texas. Travis and Lorraine bought J. C. and Gladys Morris's farm where they farmed in Sayre, Oklahoma after retiring.

Lorraine enjoyed many hobbies including, square dancing, embroidering, ceramics, cooking and baking meals for her family and friends. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers and vegetables. Lorraine had the prettiest yard and flowerbeds in the neighborhood. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Boots and Calico Square Dance Club, Red Hats, and WPS in Amarillo, Texas. Lorraine loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and greatly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2025, at Martin-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel, Elk City, Oklahoma. Granddaughter Melissa Newton will officiate. Interment will be at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing her memory is one son, Larry "Buffalo" Hysmith and wife, Danna of Fritch, Texas; two daughters, Connie Hysmith Neely and husband, Darrell of Amarillo, Texas; Deana (Hysmith) Greene and husband, Lloyd of Borger, Texas; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and one on the way; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her loving husband, Travis Leroy Hysmith; her parents, Loyd Richard "l. R." and Myrtle Della Addis; one daughter, Diana (Hysmith) Hooks; one son-in-law, Billy Hooks; three brothers, Lloyd (Bud) Addis, Virgil Addis, George (Delbert) Addis; three sisters, Mae Judd, Juanita Womack, Nellie Word; along with many cherished aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Memorials can be made to Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Berlin Cemetery, Sayre Police Department, or the Sayre Fire Department in care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box 707, Elk City, Oklahoma 73648.

I had the honor of meeting her only a few times, she was my Grandma Nellie´s youngest sister. She shared stories of my grandma.
