Lorraine Alicia Ernst, 54, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on April 3, 2022 peacefully surrounded by family and friends in her loving home. Memorial visitation will be on Friday, April 8 from 4-7 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove, N.J. A Funeral Service will be offered on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church of Cedar Grove, 155 Commerce Rd., Cedar Grove. Kindly gather directly at the church. Lorraine Alicia Ernst was born in Newark, New Jersey to Anthony and Alma Jones. She was raised in Cedar Grove, New Jersey and later settled in Bethlehem PA. A 1990 graduate of William Paterson University with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Lorraine was a program support specialist at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark. Lorraine started many lifelong friendships at Leonard R. Parks Elementary School and Memorial High School in Cedar Grove. She graced us with her infectious laugh and smile, always creating a good story. From a young age she enjoyed ballet, gymnastics, chorus, drama productions, cheerleading and Key club. "Sweet" Lorraine, embodied love and courage which stemmed from her faith in Christ. Lorraine exemplified what it is to care, love and serve to strangers as well as friends and family. She will always be smiling and ready to have some fun in our hearts.
Lorraine was predeceased by her mother, Alma Jones: children Nicolas and Natalie Neurnberger.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Ernst; children Lia and Shane Ernst; father, Anthony Jones, Sr.; siblings, Anthony Jones, David Jones and Sandra Washington (Jones); Brother in law, Bruce Washington: Sisters in law, Tiffany Jones, Belinda Jones, Brenda Ernst; nieces, Nia Washington and Delaney Jones; Jones nephews, Alexander, Bryce and Collier; Washington nephews, Bruce Jr. and Ethan; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, BFFs, church family and friends.
