Lorraine C. Woznick, age 94 of Manitowoc, was called home to God on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Sylvan Crossings Assisted Living. Lorraine passed away, peacefully, of natural causes.
Lorraine was born on October 30, 1929 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Leo and Anna (Beranek) Sydow. She was a 1948 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On June 10, 1950 Lorraine was married to John "Jack" Woznick at St. Paul Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2001. Lorraine was, in her own words, "a professional homemaker." Without a doubt, Lorraine's legacy is her family, shown by the deep devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved each and everyone one of them so very dearly. Among her many skills, she was an extraordinary seamstress, having made many outfits for her children and costumes for her grandchildren. She also had an amazing "green thumb" and enjoyed crafts, including ceramics, throughout the years. She was a longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the St. Clare Society. Lorraine lived at Sylvan Crossings, Manitowoc, for the past 10 years.
Survivors include her eight children and their spouses: Margaret (Hans) Schlegel, Two Rivers, Christine (John) Broeckert, Manitowoc, Michael (Sue) Woznick, Manitowoc, Debra (Mark) Strachota, Brookfield, Laura Woznick, Manitowoc, Therese (John) Bishop, Appleton, Ann (Brad) Kunst, Clear Lake, IA, Kathryn (Donny) Hillstrom, Sheboygan Falls; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one sister: Jean Sydow, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Leo and Anna Sydow; her husband: Jack Woznick; two sons: Gerard Woznick, David Woznick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, 1114 South 21st Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Jason Blahnik will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Visitation at the church will be on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. The Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements. I was 7 years old wearing my first brown suit and hat at Lorraine and Jacks wedding . Jack is my first cousin and his daughter Laura is my godchild. Before they had their own children (Marsha and I) My mom and dad would have Jack , Bill , Vernon and Dick stay with them in Milwaukee . One time the boys wanted ice cream so my dad got them all the ice cream they wanted until they could eat no more . Lorraine was always kind to us and welcomed us to their home .
I am nearly 82 now and don't go far from home . I will be praying for Lorraine and her family , God Bless .
