William Francis (Bill) Woznick peacefully passed into heaven on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at his home in Center Point, Texas. Bill was born to Micheal and Ina Marian Scott Woznick on October 5, 1946, in East Syracuse, New York. He is survived by his wife, Marcie Cox of Center Point, TX, sons, Greg and Jason (Edie) Woznick, of Tucson AZ, his sister, Sharon Woznick of Baldwinsville, NY, grandchildren Cora, Arlo, and Keita Woznick and numerous family and friends.
After graduating from high school, Bill enlisted in the US Army. He achieved the rank of Drill Sergeant and in October 1970 started his twelve month tour of duty in country Vietnam. He was a squad leader in the 196th Light Infantry Brigade D-2-1. Bill is the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze star for Bravery with two Oak Clusters and other awards for his military service. After his tour in Vietnam, Bill was assigned to Fort Polk, LA, where he served as Drill Sergeant for 2 years. He was honorably discharged from the Army and completed his Bachelors degree from Northwestern State University of Louisiana.
Bill had a career working for the US Government on Army contracts spending most of that time at Fort Huachuca, AZ. During that time he completed an MBA from Syracuse University. After retirement, Bill started his dog training career and became a master dog trainer. He operated a dog play care and training studio in Sierra Vista, AZ. In 2010, Bill moved to Kerrville, TX, where he was a part owner of Apache Farms Dog Lodging, Day Care, and Training.
It is Bill's exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam that was most likely the cause of his diagnosis in August 2020 of small cell lung cancer. In 2017, Bill reunited with several of his D-2-1 Vietnam veteran brothers and attended annual reunions with this group. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A beautiful light here on earth has gone out. In our darkness, may we seek the true light of Jesus Christ our Lord.
