Lorren Oliver "Larry" Reynolds Sr.

Lorren "Larry" Oliver Reynolds, Sr., 72, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Hartford Hospital. Born in St. Catherine, Jamaica on February 6, 1952, son of the late Lawrence G. Reynolds and Mavis (Lewis) Chung, he was raised in St. Catherine, Jamaica, and migrated to the United States in 1972 and settled in Hartford.
After moving to Hartford, Lorren continued his education at A.I. Prince Technical Institute where he trained to be an automotive mechanic. He worked at Combustion Engineering in Windsor while worked on cars for many years on the side. He eventually opened his own business, Larry's Automotive in Hartford on the corner of Homestead and Albany Avenues which he operated for many years. After several years, he transitioned to work as a machinist at Barnes Aerospace where he stayed for 14 years until his retirement in 2020.
In his spare time, Lorren enjoyed watching his favorite sport, cricket and socializing with his friends at the Sportsman Athletic Club on Main Street in Hartford. He was a longtime member of Faith Assembly of God in Hartford.
He leaves to mourn his passing, seven children, Lorrene Miller of East Hartford, Sheryl Reynolds of Manchester, Michelle Reynolds of Bloomfield, Lorren Reynolds, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL, Daniel Reynolds and Jonathan Mollison-Reynolds both of Toronto, Canada, and Lori Diane Reynolds of Enfield; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; six siblings, Audrey Chung Edwards of Florida, Everton Chung of England, Andrew Chung of Ohio, Michelle Chung of Bloomfield, Maureen Chung Gagliarali of Canada, and Linda Reynolds of Hartford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
His family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 10-11 a.m., followed by a Homegoing Service at 11 a.m., at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 290 Cornwall Street, Hartford. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family has entrusted the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home with the arrangements.
