LouAnn was born on June 21, 1932, in Hamlin County to Fred and Anna (Loukojarvi) Koistinen. She attended Hayti High School before graduating in 1950.
On Nov. 4, 1951 LouAnn was married to Dale Everson at her home in rural Hayti.
LouAnn was a pillar of strength and kindness. Before dedicating her life to raising children, she worked in the courthouse for the superintendent of Hamlin County Schools. It was there that she developed a keen sense of responsibility and attention to detail that she carried into every aspect of her life.
LouAnn was known for her love of reading and her deep appreciation for music of all kinds. During her high school years she accompanied many musical groups. She could often be found with a good book in hand or listening to her favorite tunes, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. After dance lessons, she and Dale could be seen enjoying a waltz or polka on the dance floor.
Her creativity flourished through quilting, a hobby she cherished deeply. LouAnn spent countless hours crafting beautiful quilts with the ladies of New Hope Church, where she formed lasting friendships and created memories that will live on in the quilts she made with love. She and Dale did many woodworking projects for family and friends.
A fantastic cook, LouAnn was always eager to share a meal with anyone who dropped in, and her kitchen was a place where many gathered to enjoy delicious food and warm company. Her culinary skills were surpassed only by her generous spirit and love for those around her.
A devoted wife and mother, LouAnn's greatest passion in life was her family, and she devoted herself to nurturing and caring for those around her.
LouAnn had a strong belief in the importance of punctuality, and she was known for her meticulousness when it came to being on time. A trait that she passed on to her family, reminding them that time with loved ones was precious and worth respecting.
She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Dale Everson, her children, Kenneth (Susan) Everson, of Hayti, SD; Curtis (Roxy) Everson, of Pierre, SD; Kay (Randy) Taschner, of Hayti SD; and Neal (Mary) Everson, of Slayton, MN; sister-in-law, Lucille Buri; many grandchildren, Jared (Holly) Everson, Kyle (Mickey) Everson, Paul (Monica) Everson, Mark (Malissa) Everson, Jeff Everson, Jenna (Jeff) Hieb, Craig (Holly) Taschner, Stacey Stormo, Lindsey (Levi) Olson, Tyler (Olivia) Taschner, Brian (Jenn) Everson, Colleen (Patrick) Freeman, Grant (Alyssa) Everson, Nathan (Anna) Everson, 37 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
