In Loving Memory of Louis DeHoyos Jr.
May 20, 1948 – March 30, 2025
Age 76
Louis DeHoyos Jr., a beloved husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of March 30, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born on May 20, 1948, to Louis DeHoyos Sr. and Virginia Flores Martinez, Louis lived a life marked by humility, strength, and unwavering love for his family and faith. He was a genuine and authentic man, known for always treating others with kindness and respect. Even in the face of hardship, he never complained. His dry sense of humor, gentle wisdom, and steady presence were gifts to all who knew him.
Louis was a great man - not by measure of wealth or possessions, but by how he lived his life. He made a lasting difference in the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was deeply loved, and his selflessness was unmatched. He lived the way a true Christian should: humbly, compassionately, and without hypocrisy. His faith was not only something he spoke of often, but something he lived every day.
He was an extremely humble man who worked tirelessly as a machinist for many years to support his family. Through sacrifice and quiet determination, he made it possible for his sons to pursue their education and graduate from college - a reflection of the love and responsibility that guided his every decision. He never sought recognition, but the strength of his character spoke volumes.
Louis often shared scripture with those he loved, and the last verse he sent to us was Revelation 3:20:
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."
He taught by example. One of the most lasting lessons he gave his family was that "actions speak louder than words." He lived those words every day - never seeking attention, always showing love through what he did, not just what he said.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of many years, Maria Diana DeHoyos, and his sons, Antoine A. DeHoyos and Ryan A. DeHoyos, whom he deeply loved. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Delanie DeHoyos and Addison DeHoyos, whose joy he carried in his heart every day.
He is also survived by his siblings: Mario DeHoyos, Roger DeHoyos, Daniel DeHoyos, and his sister Yolanda "Yogi" Hite.
Louis was preceded in death by his father, Louis DeHoyos Sr., and his mother, Virginia Flores Martinez.
