A fourth generation Rochesterian, Lou was a graduate of Aquinas Institute and member of the Princeton University class of 1950. He served as executive vice president of Langie Fuel Service from 1950-1968. In 1969 he joined Lincoln Rochester Trust Company as a Vice President, retiring twenty years later from Chase Lincoln First Bank, N.A. as Vice Chairman of the Board.
A pillar of the Rochester philanthropic community, Lou served in various leadership capacities with the Rochester Convention & Visitors Bureau, Eastman Dental Center, Community Chest/United Way, Otetiana Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Greater Rochester Chapter of the American Red Cross, George Eastman House, Rochester General Hospital Founders Club, St. Mary's Hospital, Catholic Charities, Colgate Rochester Divinity School, CYO, Al Sigl Community of Agencies, Crime Stoppers, Allendale Columbia School, Salvation Army, and the Chamber of Commerce, to name a few. In addition, Lou founded the "Casting for Character" fishing tournament fundraiser for benefit of the Seneca Waterways Chapter of the Boy Scouts.
An avid fisherman, Lou spent many adventures with his wonderful Sally, traveling throughout the world in search of that perfect fish. He also enjoyed friendly competition on the handball and tennis courts. Over the years he and Sally loved their Bedlington terriers, particularly Barclay.
Lou's dedication to Rochester, his relentless passion for giving, along with his roaring and contagious laugh, made him a great friend, mentor and companion who will be greatly missed by many.
His family is eternally grateful for the loving care and compassion of Jennifer, and Vicki; his devoted companion care givers from Touching Hearts at Home; and the loving attention he received from the staff at Glenmere at Cloverwood.
