Louis J. Marco

Louis J. Marco, 98, of Mendon, formerly of Franklin, passed away peacefully Sunday June 1, 2025, surrounded by family. Born and raised in Franklin, Louis was a lifelong resident before spending the last ten years in Mendon.
A graduate of Franklin High School, Louis was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army Air Corps. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated 46 year career with the Stop & Shop Companies. What started as a job bagging groceries, he worked his way to managing both the Franklin and Milford stores, eventually serving in the company office in Boston.
Louis was married for 57 years to his beloved wife and best friend, Anne (Donnelly) Marco, who predeceased him in 2015. Together they built a life filled with love, family and lasting memories.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Marco and his wife Ann Marie of Lakeville, MA, and his daughter, Anne Richards and her husband Douglas of Mendon, MA. He was the proud grandfather of five cherished grandchildren: Alex Marco, Brandon Marco and his wife Isabella, Elizabeth Marco and her fiancé Sean Lee, Ryan and Matthew Richards.
Louis was a man of simple joys. He found great pleasure in his daily victory beating Doug at Wordle and his Soduku puzzles. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Celtics. He enjoyed feeding his birds and doing his daily golf cart rounds. Above all he delighted in keeping up with the lives and achievements of his grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.
His legacy of hard work, quiet strength and devotion to family will be remembered and treasured by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour Tuesday June 10th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 10-11AM.
His funeral service will take place at 11AM.
Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin.
