Louise Wise Obituary

Published by Dyer-Lake Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC - North Attleboro on Jul. 21, 2005.
Louise Ann (DeBlois) Wise, 75, of Parmenter Lane, North Attleboro, died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 21, 2005 upon arrival to the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of Roger C. Wise to whom she was married on June 3, 1950.

Born in North Attleboro, Massachusetts on April 22, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Eloida (Fournier) DeBlois. She was a lifelong resident of the community and attended North Attleboro schools having been a 1947 graduate of North Attleboro High School.

Years ago, before starting a family, Mrs. Wise was employed at Evans Case Company and for the Deltran Corporation.

Her most significant accomplishment was that of a loving and dedicated homemaker to her husband and son and, in later years, her beloved grandchildren.

She and her family attended Grace Episcopal Church in North Attleboro in earlier years.

Mrs. Wise was a great cook and will be fondly remembered for her delicious clam cakes and chowder and for her sense of humor that she turned into funny poetry.

As an avid knitter, she enjoyed making sweaters and slipper socks for family members and friends.

She was an avid tole painter and was a pianist who passed her skills and passion for playing on to her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a son: Stephen R. Wise and his wife, Cynthia (Bennett) Wise, of North Attleboro; two grandchildren: Jeffrey Wise and Matthew Wise both of North Attleboro; two sisters: Pauline Lovely of North Attleboro and Mildred Fuller of Barnstable; a brother: Lewis DeBlois in Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Doris Sarazin, Thelma Miner, Lena Simoneau, Clara Pepin, Michael DeBlois and Arthur DeBlois.

Visitation has been respectfully omitted.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Service of Remembrance and Celebration of her life on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 11:00 AM in the “Commonwealth Chapel” of DYER-LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro.

Following graveside services an invitation will be extended to join the family for refreshment and fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Wise’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 36 Cameron Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02140-1102.

In Loving Memory Of
Louise Ann (DeBlois) Wise
April 22, 1930 – July 21, 2005

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
