Lowell Morgan Conley, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 12, 2025, after a series of illnesses. Born on August 13, 1948 in Lackey, Kentucky, Lowell led a life marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family and career.
After meeting his wife at Morehead State, Lowell completed his education with a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville and earned his master’s degree at Eastern Kentucky University, where he cultivated a foundation for his esteemed career in the automotive industry. He devoted many years to BASF, where his work allowed him to travel the world and experience diverse cultures, enhancing both his professional and personal life.
A member of Westport Road Baptist Church, Lowell’s faith was an integral part of his life. He shared his passion for woodworking with those around him after his retirement and found joy in taking long walks with his beloved dog, Duffy. These interests enriched his life and provided simple yet profound happiness.
Above all else, Lowell treasured the time spent with his family. He was the devoted husband of Nancy Koontz Conley for 56 wonderful years. Together they raised two daughters, Kristina Smith (Patrick) and Katrina Yunt (David), who brought immeasurable joy into his life. His legacy continues with his grandchildren, Morgan, Addison, Henry, and Thomas, who were the light of his life. Lowell also leaves behind his sister, Carolyn Lewis, and his brother, Merle Conley (Judy), along with numerous loving nieces and nephews who admired him deeply.
Lowell is preceded in death by his parents, Coet and Vertie Conley, and his brother, Carlos Conley, both of whom he held dear in his heart. His warm spirit and compassionate nature will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
