Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home & Crematory of Rogers on Nov. 28, 2024.
Lucas Allen Gartman, 32, died on November 20, 2024. He was born on February 5, 1992 in Louisville, Kentucky to Larry Allen and Janna (Bean) Gartman. Growing up in
Rogers, Arkansas, Lucas spent his childhood adventuring in the outdoors- going fishing, camping, hunting, and skiing. He could often be found in the front yard playing catch with his Dad. He grew up an athlete, playing travel baseball with the Blue Devils and later playing on the Rogers Mountie football and soccer teams.
Lucas was committed to academics, graduating from Rogers High School with distinguished honors. He later graduated from the University of Arkansas as an outstanding student in finance and was recognized as a senior scholar. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at Stephens in Little Rock. His gifts of problem solving and strategic thinking allowed him to excel in this highly competitive industry. Lucas was born to be an entrepreneur and thrived on identifying and landing deals.
Lucas valued faith, family, friendships, honesty, and loyalty- all of which he learned by the examples set by his parents. He loved the USA and had the utmost respect for our military and veterans- an admiration inspired by his "Papa" Gartman, a WWII purple-heart veteran. Lucas was a seeker of knowledge and a lifelong student. He recognized the value of wisdom from older generations, and he understood lessons in life can come from all ages and walks of life. His witty sense of humor and his contagious smile brought light and laughter to every room and everyone. He loved music, playing the guitar, dancing, flying, reading, cooking, traveling, skiing, golfing, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. He embraced his inner cowboy and was a self-proclaimed civilized redneck. He had an enormous amount of love for others, regardless of class or social status. With his heart of gold, he embraced people with an open-mind, making them feel special, seen, and heard. Above all else, he loved his family. His greatest role model was his Dad, aka "Hoss," who taught him about fulfilling commitments, how to be a gentleman, and the art of storytelling.
His biggest fan will always be his "main chick," his Mama. She taught him how to take care of others, how to be a good friend, and how to love the Lord. He was a fierce protector of his big sisters. He filled their lives with years of laughter, advice, support, friendship, fun, comfort, bravery, and unconditional love. Lucas gave his all and fought the good fight. His family is proud of his strength and determination. We are thankful he is healed, and we will live for the day we see him again. That will be the day.
Lucas was preceded in death by his aunt, Tammy Davis; paternal grandparents, George C. and Mildred Allen Gartman; and maternal grandparents, J.C. Bean and Joan Lucas Andrews.
He is survived by his parents, Larry Allen and Janna Gartman; sisters, Jennifer Gartman Schultz (Berch), Tara Allen Gartman (Juan Pablo Marzana), Haley Gartman Petton (Andy); nephews Sebastian Marzana, Diego Marzana, George C.
