Bredl, Lucille (nee Scheidt)
October 8, 1928 – December 3, 2021
Died peacefully on December 3, 2021 at the age of 93. Loving mother of Alison (Jimmy) Kleser. Loving grandmother of Rachel Kleser and Jeremy (Claudia) Kleser. Great-grandmother of Benjamin and Nicholas Gaskell and Ava and Rowen Crawford. Also survived by her sister Lorraine Scheidt, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Eugene "Gene" Bredl, her parents, and 3 brothers, Robert "Bob" Scheidt, George Scheidt, and Donald "Don" Scheidt.
Lucille enjoyed life. She was enjoyable to be around, had a fun personality, and a great sense of humor. She was kind and generous. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and did crafts of all kinds. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and her special friends Russ and his family, Jean and Irene.
A very special thank you to Dr. Eric Maas and his assistant Judy for their kindness and exceptional care that they gave to my mother. Dr. Maas always made her feel better. Also, a special thank you to Keyanna Wells from the Aurora Hospice team for her loving personality and care that she gave to Lucille. Lucille truly appreciated everyone involved in her care.
Most exceptionally was her dear and loving sister Lorraine, who took such good care of her, was always at her side, and was with her right up to the end.

My Aunt Lucille was a gracious person, who truly cared about others. For a very petite lady she wore a great big smile that captured the hearts of others. So, here are some of my fond memories of her.
As a very small child we had many family gatherings in the basement of my grandparents, (Lucille´s parents). That basement was magical! My Aunt Lucille painted all the walls with Disney characters and might I add, like a professional. Her creativity added joy to our family gatherings.
I loved the times we would picnic at Friess Lake. Just Uncle Gene, Aunt Lucille, Alison and I. Once we went on vacation to a cabin on a lake. Alison and I decided to float on the inner tubes out in the middle of the lake. When my aunt saw us out there she was not happy. Aunt Lucille, who is normally soft spoken, let her voice be known.
My aunt knew how to be a real friend and confidante. When her sister-in-law was at the final part of her life, Lucille was with her every day until her passing.
My Aunt Lucille fought a debilitating disease, she didn´t give up, she fought like a champion. She knew how to be happy, she took life one day at a time, she complained very little, and she was thankful for the little things in life.
Maya Angelou said: My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.
That is how my Aunt Lucille lived.

I miss my sister Lucille very much. I am thinking back when she was young. Lucille was always outside playing with our brother, George and Donald. She did whatever they climbing running whatever they did she did. She loved reading books, was very interested in history. She had a curiosity that needed to satisfy, always trying to learn the answers to something. She loved people and enjoyed friendly conversations. As she got older she loved to garden and get her hands into the ground. She enjoyed long walks with her friends. She had three special friends for many year and there here for her to the very end. Thank you Russ, Irene and Jean. Thanks to Russ´s sisters, Sandi, Gail and Marsha. They adopted her into their family when she lost her beloved husband Gene and became friends. There is so much I would like to say. I just want to say I loved my dear sister and can look back at the good life we had as sisters and friends.
