Lula Sizemore Napier, a beloved figure in her community and a devoted matriarch, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the Hyden Health and Rehab Center in Hyden, Kentucky. She was 105 years old. Born on September 24, 1920, in Clay County, Kentucky, Lula lived a life marked by love, faith, and devotion to her family.
Throughout her years, Lula embraced her role as a loving and devoted homemaker, pouring her heart into creating a warm and nurturing environment for her loved ones. Her passion for knitting, quilting, gardening, and cooking reflects her nurturing spirit, and her talent for canning ensured that her family enjoyed the fruits of her labor year-round. Lula cherished her time spent reading the Bible and found great joy in sharing moments with her family, always making them feel welcomed and loved.
A proud member of the Little Creek Baptist Church in Marcum, Kentucky, Lula's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with others. She was known for her kindness, wisdom, and ability to bring people together, embodying the values she held dear.
Lula leaves behind her devoted family, including three sons, Justus Napier (Ann), David Napier (Till), and Chris Wagers (Ashley); three daughters, Loyce Gray, Vivian Wagers, and Sharon Revis (Gary); as well as nine grandchildren, Vickie Keeney, Lisa Napier Martin, Steve Langdon, Teresa Langdon Smith, Billy Ray Wagers, Gary Wagers, Tammy Williams, David Revis, and Tara Napier. She also leaves a legacy of love with her 21 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of special nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
Joined in everlasting rest are her parents, Jake Sizemore and Martha Hoskins Sizemore, her beloved husband, George Ward Napier, her sons-in-law, Curt Wagers and JR Gray, and a host of siblings.
Lula Sizemore Napier will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire those who follow in her footsteps.
Funeral: Friday, December 26, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.
