Lupe H. Guerrero, a beloved matriarch and cherished figure in her community, passed away on May 29, 2025, in Seguin, Texas, at the age of 91. Born on December 11, 1933, Lupe was the eldest of nine children. From an early age, she demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her family, nurturing her siblings and standing as the glue that held them together throughout her life. Lupe was more than just a sister; she was the heart of her family. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, where everyone felt welcomed and cared for, whether they were family members, friends, or strangers who needed warmth and kindness. She often opened her doors to those in need, embodying the spirit of hospitality and compassion that defined her existence.

Known affectionately as one of the "Golden Girls" in her church, Lupe was a pillar of prayer and a devoted servant in the house of the Lord. Her spiritual journey took her on numerous mission trips, cementing her role as a warrior in the spirit. Lupe could often be found greeting congregants with a smile, and she performed countless prayer services for those seeking solace. Her faith was a guiding light, and her prayers touched many lives throughout her community. In her quiet moments, Lupe found joy in tending to her garden, relishing time spent outside. The simple pleasure of relaxing on her porch in a rocking chair brought her tranquility and happiness, grounding her amidst the busyness of life.

Lupe is preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Nicolasa Hernandez, and her husband, Baldomero G. Guerrero. She was also predeceased by her children, Vionita Gallardo and Esther Avila, along with her grandchild, Cayden Matthew Guerrero. 

Lupe leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. She is survived by her children, Baldamero Guerrero Jr., David Guerrero, Lawrence Guerrero, Yesenia Avila,  Son in Laws; Juan Menchaca, Albert Gallardo Sr., and Richard Avila. Additionally, she is remembered by her grandchildren: Albert Gallardo Jr., Joshua Gallardo, Amber Guerrero, Justin Guerrero, Britney Guerrero, Ira Lisa Hill, Alesia Lanette Avila, Briana Orozco, Derek Guerrero, Kelsey Guerrero, Brandon Freisenhan, Morgan Vollmar, Mason Guerrero, Robyn Delaney, Hannah Guerrero, Logan Guerrero, Shelly Caballero, Nathan Avila, and Jay Menchaca. Lupe also had the joy of 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each carrying a piece of her spirit forward in their own lives.  Lupe’s absence will be deeply felt by her siblings: Victor Hernandez, Susie Rico, Sarah Carrillo, Felix Hernandez, Patsy Cruz, Josefina Diaz, Sylvia Arreola, and Esperanza Espinosa, as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends whose lives she touched so profoundly.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and served. Lupe's funeral services will be held at Palmer Mortuary & Cremations in Seguin, Texas. Visitation will take place on June 4, 2025 from 5pm to 8pm with a prayer service in the evening at 6:30pm. 

Visitation will continue on June 5, 2025 at 8am leading to her funeral service at 10am. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery. 

In this time of sorrow and remembrance, we celebrate a remarkable life dedicated to love, service, and faith, as we honor the legacy of Lupe H. Guerrero.
