Ms. Lynette (Johnson) Hampton, age 68, of Sanford, North Carolina entered eternal rest on Friday, November 3, 2023.
Lynette was born on June 18, 1955, in Sanford, NC to the late Frank Johnson and Eliza W. Johnson.
She graduated from Johnson C. Smith University with a degree in the accounting field. There she met Bernard Hampton and married him on May 18, 1979. As his military service took him all over the world, she followed suit working various jobs in her field and in service to the church, touching lives and influencing people everywhere she went. Always ready with a smile she enjoyed helping others. She spread this joy after her retirement by assisting in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in any way possible along with being there for her family until November 3, 2023, when she was finally called home.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Hampton.
Surviving loved ones left to cherish her memory are one son, Justin Hampton (Lecole) of Sumter, SC; one grandson, Adam J. Hampton; sisters, Barbara, Margaret, and Claretta; one brother, Frank L. Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
