Margaret "Arlene" Rabold, 91, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Keystone Villa.
Born in Lower Salford Township she was the daughter of the late H. Lester and Alice (Gottshall) Hockman. She was the wife of Jack H. Rabold, with whom she shared 72 years of marriage.
During her working years, Arlene was the Vice President, office manager, secretary and parts person at Rabold Foreign Car, Inc., the garage she and Jack owned. For a short time, she also owned Trim Time exercise studio and later sold real estate at Century 21.
She was an avid bowler from the time she was a young adult to well into her golden years. She enjoyed many outdoor activities including traveling in the RV, riding ATVs and snowmobiles, skiing, and playing tennis. Indoors, Arlene enjoyed roller skating and pickleball. She was a voracious reader and loved a good jigsaw puzzle. She kept her hands busy knitting and cross-stitching. She was a member of Ephrata Church of the Brethren and spent several years volunteering with Red Cross Emergency Child Care.
Arlene shared many interesting experiences traveling up and down the east coast during Jack's racing career. She was the most valuable and ever-present member of Jack's race team; supporting him by handling the scoring and time-keeping duties. At many tracks, she helped with the official scoring of the races. She was the team navigator to get them to and from the tracks, as well as, navigator for Jack in the Porsche club rally events. She even tried her hand behind the wheel competing in the Hershey Hill Climb in their Porsche Speedster. She was a loving mother and the glue that held the family and the family business together.
In addition to her husband, Arlene is survived by a daughter, Lisa, wife of Michael Klein of Wake Forest, NC; a son, Michael of Ephrata and a granddaughter, Britney Klein.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Violet (Hockman) Connelly.
Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
