Maddalena (Lena) Maio 82, of North Haven passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 with her family by her side. She was a beloved wife to Rolando Maio for 63 years, who was the primary caregiver during her illness. Lena was born in Alife, Itay, and was a resident in North Haven for 55 years. Lena is the daughter of the late Nicola and Natalina Fratta and daughter in-law of the late Giovanni and Maria Maio. She loved to make her home cooked meals, especially on the holidays, baking bread, biscotti and her delicious Christmas cookies. Lena was a stay-at-home mom raising her 5 children, Maria Williams, Lisa Iannucci (Ron) Nick Maio (Jennifer) and Ron Maio. She was predeceased by her son John Maio. Grandmother to Micheal Iannucci (Heather) Matthew Iannucci (Brianna) Jessica Iannucci, Joseph Williams (Amanda), John and Anthony Maio. Great Grandmother to Rhea, Miles, Easton, Elle Iannucci and Joseph Williams, Jr. A Special thank you to all the staff at Hartford Healthcare with special consideration to nurse Cindy for her exceptional dedication and compassionate care. We want to express our deepest appreciation to Edmudo and Flora Fratta Brother and sister in-law, and the Fratta Family for their constant dedication and outstanding care, and devotion. The visiting hours will be Monday morning, October 27th from 9:00 to 10:30 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 200 Executive Boulevard, Suite 2B, Southington, CT 06489.
