Malverna Louise Buchheim, age 97, of Tipton, died Wednesday, October 2, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Malverna was born March 12, 1927, in California, Missouri, to William B. and Fannie (Bucher) Senior. She attended a rural school in Moniteau County, Missouri, graduated from Latham High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, Missouri in 1949.
She was married June 2, 1956, to Harry K. Buchheim.
Malverna was an elementary school teacher in the central Missouri area and later taught in Topeka and Lecompton, Kansas.
Malverna was a former member of the Kansas State Teachers Association, NEA, life member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Stull United Methodist Church, Family and Community Education and life member of Lecompton Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Buchheim and her parents.
Malverna moved to Tipton, Missouri later in her life to live closer to her sister, Marvelene and family. She enjoyed taking walks, working in her yard, word search puzzles and coloring. She loved spending quality time with family and friends. Malverna made many close friends and was active up to her hospitalization and death.
She is survived by a brother, William D. Senior of Harrisonville, Missouri; a nephew and six nieces.
A family graveside service will be held at Stull Cemetery in Lecompton, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to Stull Community of Faith, 1596 E. 250 Rd, Lecompton, Kansas 66050.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
