My fondest memory goes back about 50 years.. I was about 13 when I thought it would be a good time to challenge him to run the mile with me.. he just smiled and sure Johnny... so NPHS here we come..
the first 3 laps I was out front feeling confident.. then.. boom.. his gazelle like stride was engaged.. ran past me like I was in reverse..
He could have easily beaten me by a half lap.. but nope.. he turned around and ran backwards just ahead of me coaching me on..to finish strong..and only beat me by a few steps... extremely classy action I´ve never forgotten.. from a very loving and compassionate man that he was..I always enjoyed my time with him.. RC planes his Slot car track.. or sometimes just a good BS session.. are very fond memories..R.I.P. Uncle Manfred... you will be missed dearly from anyone who knew you..

Working with Manfred in the Components division of Wavetek. He was a great mentor taking the time to listen and explain many aspects of electronics to this young pup. Thanks Manfred.
