Manuel Salvador Olivas

Manuel Salvador Olivas, 63, of Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly Friday June 16, 2023 while visiting family in Cortez, CO. Manuel was born in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico December 25, 1959, the son of the late Antonio and Oralia (Maestas) Olivas. He was a graduate of Montezuma-Cortez High School and attended technical school in Cortez, CO. Manuel married Diane Louise Barton in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette July 2, 2011 and she survives. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette and enjoyed working in his yard. Manuel was a team leader in the paint shop at SIA before retiring in 2019 after 27 years of employment. Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Amber Garcia of Aurora, CO, a step-daughter, Zoe Barton of Lafayette, IN, two brothers, Juan and Agapito Olivas, two sisters, Rosemary Mercure and Stella Archuletta, both of Cortez, CO, seven grandchildren, Aden, Akoi, Ashton, Abel, Seraphina, Eliza and Mi'Mighess. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Richard, Kathy and Max Olivas and Rachel Martinez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette 11:00 AM Tuesday July 11, Fr. Jeff Martin officiating. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
