Pelletier, Marc Maurice, 67, of Rome, NY, passed away peacefully at Kent Hospital on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Donna Lynn (Scott) Pelletier for 47 years.
Born & raised in Coventry, Rhode Island, he was a son of the late Hervey & Anita Pelletier. Marc graduated from Coventry High School in Coventry, RI, Class of 1972, then served in the United States Air Force from 1974-1994 as a Meteorologist and retired as a Tech Sergeant. He served as the Treasurer of Friendship Baptist Church in Rome, NY for 31 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Marc R. Pelletier and his wife Wendy of Mountain Home, ID, Melissa C. Jones and her husband Paul of Greer, SC, and Shannon N. Meyers and her husband Tom of Marcy, NY; three sisters; Diane Cole of Ashland, NH, Cecile Girouard and George of Bristol, NH, and Claudette Fage of Coventry, RI; 14 cherished grandchildren that he loved deeply, Marc Jr., Miguel, Mateo, Ezekiel and Xander Pelletier, Elijah, Mikey, and Tony Mastroeni, Hudson, Clayton and Lyla Jones, Jasmine and Subsen Ortiz, and Isabella Lynn Meyers. He is predeceased by his brother Raymond Pelletier formerly of Houlton, ME.
Marc came to know the Lord on April 11, 1982 and dedicated his life to the Lord in 1985. His pain and cancer all ended on this earth, and he is rejoicing before our Heavenly Father, whom he loved so very much! He was never afraid to take a stand for his convictions, nor too afraid to speak to anyone about Christ! These last several years had been physically demanding on him, and he would say several times "I'm not afraid of death! I'm going to Heaven! I'm ready to go!" Marc had the privilege of leading his mother-in-law to Christ several weeks before his death. He set a great example for his children and grandchildren of what a life dedicated to Christ looks like. We believe, beyond any shadow of doubt that Marc is hearing, "Well done, my good and faithful servant!"
Marc loved his family, church family and friends dearly. Marc spent his time watching & talking weather, taking walks & catching worms with Isabella, watching wildlife, eating egg sandwiches, playing cards & watching cartoons with his grandkids, snowmobiling, and watching old westerns. Marc was loved and respected for his character, convictions & values and will be missed greatly.
His wake will be held on Sept 25th from 2-4 pm at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Homes, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick, RI (MASKS REQUIRED). Military honors and flag ceremony will take place at 4 pm. Marc will be laid to rest in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI. Burial will be private. Celebration of his life service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church in Rome, NY with family & friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to UPMC Hillman Medical Center, Pittsburg, PA in Marc's name, treatment of multiple myeloma would be appreciated.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforce there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
