Marcia Ann Boger, age 86 of Marion, passed away, Saturday, September 13, 2025 under hospice care at Marion General Hospital.
She was born in Marion on May 17, 1939, to the late Christ and Ella V. (Hollycross) Romano. Marcia graduated from St. Mary High School in 1957. A resident of Marion since 2016, she had formerly resided in Ashley and Delaware. She retired from Willamette Industries, where she worked as an executive secretary for the plant manager.
In 1972, she married her husband, Carl. The story goes that they met while playing softball and Carl chased after her until he caught her. Together they share 31 wonderful years, raising a family, camping, and dancing, especially Western square. Sadly, he passed away in 2003.
She enjoyed time spent in her garden and doing crafts. Skilled in the kitchen, she was a gifted baker, known as "The Cookie Lady". Over the years she also decorated cakes and she made sure her children received their favorite on their birthdays. She also served as vice president of the Pleasant Acres Senior Center. A woman of God, Marcia treasured time spent in the Bradenton, Florida area and volunteered at the Palace Theater. Strong, kind, and considerate, she will be remembered for her caring ways and love of family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Tod Boger, Tim (Kathy) Boger both of Cardington, Tracie Murray of Westerville, treasured grandchildren: Elizabeth (Justin) Otterbacher, Alex Boger, Jackson Boger, Emily (Chris) Manganello, Luke (Jordan) Wolford, great-grandchildren: Dominic Manganello, Charlotte Wolford, Nathan Manganello, and Conway Wolford, sister Marian Crase, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31 years, Carl Boger and her brother John Romano.
Friends may call from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20th at the Snyder Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. at W. William St., Delaware, Ohio 43015, where services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mayfield Cemetery near Waldo, next to her beloved husband.
Memorial contributions can be made to Compassus Hospice or the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.
