Margaret M. Leverone

Margaret M. (Peg) Leverone died peacefully on March 6, 2025, in the home that her beloved Anthony (Tony) built for her in Wilmington. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing; she was 99.
Peg was born January 4, 1926, the second child of the late Christopher J. and Mary (Hennessy) in Charlestown. She graduated from Charlestown High School with honors.
Peg and Tony married on July 4, 1948, and enjoyed 69 years of marriage. They lived in Charlestown until 1960, when they moved to their new home in Wilmington. The home Peg and Tony built together has always been a safe harbor for a large extended family.
In addition to raising her four children Diane, Frank, Stephen, and Andrew, Peg worked for the Internal Revenue Service for over 20 years. Upon retirement, in addition to spending time with family, Peg and Tony enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, cruising, and their favorite Foxwood Casino.
Peg is survived by her three sons, Stephen's wife Joan, and Andrew's wife Mary. She was the beloved "Nana" of Lindsay, Emily and wife Caitlin, Stephen and partner Sarah, Jonathan, Joseph and wife Jenna, Daniel and partner Natalia, Samantha, Nicholas and wife Elisa, and Joshua Richard and wife Marisa. She was the cherished "Nana 2" of her six great grandchildren Matthew, JJ, Antonio, Owen, Wrenley, and Lorenzo.
In addition to her husband Tony, Peg was predeceased by her daughter Diane, granddaughter Allison, and her three brothers John, James, and Frank.
Peg will be missed by her devoted canine protector, Clooney.
Peg leaves a legacy of love, acceptance, and compassion. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, March 12th from 4:00-7:00pm at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington. The funeral will begin at Nichols Funeral Home on Thursday, March 13th at 9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dorothy's Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 10:30am. Interment is at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
Memorial donations in Peg's name may be made to the Parish of the Transfiguration (St. Dorothy's Church), 11 Harnden Street, Wilmington, MA 01887.
