Margaret graduated from Jenkinsville High School and went on to earn an undergraduate degree and master's degree in education at the University of South Carolina.
Margaret taught mathematics for 30 years at Lower Richland High School, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. Margaret enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, word puzzles, and watching sports, especially the Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves.
She was predeceased in death by her parents and brothers and sisters. Thomas McConnell, Sarah Rast, William McConnell, Mary Crosby, Andrew McConnell, Robert McConnell, Charles McConnell, Jean Cook, and Edith Koon. She loved and cared for all her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Memorials may be made to Epworth Childrens Home, The Oliver Gospel Mission, or a charity of your choice.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, 10 a.m. at Woodridge Memorial Park and Funeral Home. 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072
