Margaret "Peg" Jean Metheny, 71, of McPherson, KS, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her home.
She was born in Buffalo, New York on August 28, 1953, the daughter of Dale and Shirley (Defnall) Kness.
Peg attended Kane High School in Kane, Pennsylvania.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed motorcycles, crafting, YMCA, camping, fishing and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandkids.
Peg Jean Kness was united in marriage to James Metheny on May 28, 1988 in Lindsborg, KS.
She is survived by her husband, James of McPherson; children, Sara (Beau) Borst of McPherson, Kari Metheny of Hutchinson, KS, Daniel Metheny of Hutchinson, Michelle (Jesse) Seamster of Hutchinson, Ashlei (Jennifer) King of Hutchinson, and Payton (Kyle) Ferguson of Hutchinson; step mother, Jeraldine Steward, of McPherson, KS; siblings, Linda (Eric) Echevarria of Kansas City, MO, Beverly Swanson of Anacortes, WA, Tim Metheny of Liberty, MO, Rodney (Toni) Metheny of North Freemont, WI,Terry (Judi) Metheny of Milford, WA, Vicki (Clarence) Wing of McPherson and Camine (Mark) Wieden of Marquette, KS. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; other relatives, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents; half brother, Will Krehbiel and her brother-in- law, Todd Belisle.
Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Revolution Free Methodist Church in McPherson, KS with Pastor Steve Gray officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Peg Metheny Memorial Fund and they can be sent to Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid St., McPherson, KS 67460.
