Margaret Pauli O'Regan, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, was born on September 11, 1951, and passed away Saturday evening, January 25, 2025, surrounded by family. The daughter of the late Joseph and Janis Pauli. Margaret is survived by 3 devoted children, Kelly Waggenspack (Jeremy), Kevin O'Regan (Jordan), and Lauren Arnold (Ryan). She loved seeing her family grow and will be missed by her 7 grandchildren who knew her as Nana; Emma, Kate, and Sophie Waggenspack; Quinn and Oliver O'Regan; and Joseph and Audrey Arnold. She is also survived by two sisters, Kathleen Colvin and Diane LaHoste, as well as nieces and nephews whom she adored. Margaret excelled in her studies and was a proud graduate of Mount Carmel Academy ('69). She then earned her Bachelor of Education and Certification in Special Education from the University of New Orleans, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She worked in the Orleans and Jefferson Parish School Systems at Edward Hynes Elementary and Rudolph Matas Elementary for most of her career, retiring after 33 years of teaching. Margaret enjoyed walking with friends in the lanes of Lake Vista, around Lakeview and City Park. She attended mass at St. Pius X Church weekly, where she was a parishioner for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling with family, especially to the beach. Margaret found joy in celebrating any occasion - riding in Mardi Gras parades, going to lunch with friends, decorating, cooking, reading, and playing Mahjong. Margaret's life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 11:00a.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. For condolences, visit www.greenwoodfh.com.
