Eugene Louis Roth Sr.

Eugene Louis Roth Sr., age 84, formerly of Jefferson Parish, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Eugene was born June 2, 1941, in New Orleans, LA.

He was a graduate of Fortier High School in New Orleans, LA. Eugene (Horse) was the beloved husband of Nancy Marie Ryall Roth (Worm) for 55 years. Eugene is survived by his three children, Eugene L. Roth, Jr. (Angela), Leslie R. Guidry (Craig), and Paul H. Roth (Debbie). Eugene is the son of the late Henry and Freida Roth. He is the brother of the late Henry Roth, Jr., Ella Fabeile, Beverly Walker, John Roth, Joseph Roth, Dot Pizzuto, Ada Neidhart, and Frederick Roth. Eugene is also survived by his six cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Haley, Joshua (Olivia), Matthew, Brandon, Gene III, as well as many nieces and nephews, and his loyal, loving, devoted friend Bob Pritt.

Besides spending time with his family and friends, Eugene enjoyed coaching, taking car rides, eating out, volunteering for the less fortunate, and attending sporting events at Rummel High School and St. Martin's High School. He was a recipient of the St. Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese of New Orleans for many years of service to St. Agnes Parish. Eugene was a lifetime parishioner of St. Agnes. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Boomers + Beyond, and the St. Agnes Men's Club. He had a passion for calling bingo for St. Agnes organizations- "BOINT OUT." Eugene was a faithful volunteer of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos. He was a retiree of Entergy. The family would like to thank Fr. Dennis Hayes for helping him complete his pilgrimage into the Catholic Church. We would also like to thank Passages Hospice for all the care and support you provided.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit St. Agnes Catholic Church, located at 3310 Jefferson Hwy, Jefferson, LA 70121, on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM. The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
