Obituary
Margaret Rankin Proctor, 54, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022 after a month-long battle with cancer here in Spartanburg where she was born on May 21, 1968. Two years ago, she moved to James Island, Charleston, SC, after owning Magnolias Salon on Pine Street for over 18 years.
She leaves her Dad, Ken Rankin (stepmother, Isaaileen); her son, James Hampton Proctor of Spartanburg, SC; her sisters, Lisa Michelle Rankin Pemberton of Charleston, SC and Melissa Nelson Walker (Joe) of Inman, SC; her nephew, Clayton Shirley (Ashley) and their four children; also four cousins, Tinsley, Trey, Carmen and Meghan; and her Uncle Dupree.
She is together in Heaven with her mother, Norma Davis Nelson McCraw; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Davis; and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Rankin.
She cherished so many friends from grade school to today and her customers of over 18 years at Magnolia's, whom became her good friends. She loved to create beautiful things and share them with others. She recently, while in Charleston, found a new love of teaching preschool and sharing her love of art with them.
Margaret wished to be cremated and her ashes scattered in the ocean at Folly Beach.
We love you and miss you.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Crescent Hospice (nurse Tonya) coming every day to our home. Thank you Tonya, you were so caring, and to Hamp's good friend, Lydia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or online to www.spartanburghumane.org.
Memorial service will be announced on this website at a later date.
