Margaret "Peg" Irene Turbin, of Howell, Michigan, passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on December 6, 1947, to the late John and Gladys Radcliffe, Peg's zest for life and enthusiasm touched everyone she met.
Peg had an extraordinary ability to embrace life's adventures with courage and a smile. In her younger years, she was a thrill-seeker at heart. Her pursuits included the speeds of downhill and cross-country skiing, the heights of ski jumping, and the thrill of snowmobiling. The warmth of summer found her water skiing on Michigan's lakes and exploring the depths through scuba diving. Her passion for the outdoors was paralleled by her love for the quieter moments at her favorite winery, where she savored the fruits of the vine.
Her creative spirit was woven into the fabric of her life, as evidenced by her love for needlework. Peg's hands were rarely still as she crafted beauty through sewing, crocheting, and cross-stitching. A voracious reader, she also found joy and relaxation in the pages of books and the challenge of puzzles.
Peg grew up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and graduated from Munising High School in 1966. She spent over 25 years at Citizen's Insurance, as a Personal Lines Underwriter.
Peg is survived by her devoted husband, Walt, whom she met at one of the many cross country and track meets each of their daughters were competing in. From there, their connection blossomed, and they were married in the summer of 1993. Together, they shared a bond forged through their shared love for their children. Peg's legacy is also lovingly carried on by her daughter, Lorien (David) Feighner, and her stepchildren, Jeff (Jeanette) Turbin, Steve (Shelly) Turbin, Stephanie Miller, and Becky (Keith) Pryor, who will forever cherish the memories.
Peg will be remembered by her siblings, John (Merri Ann) Radcliffe and Jill Layton. As well as her nieces and nephews, James McCollum, David (Jeanette) McCollum, Julie (Greg) Prunick, John (Kelli) McCollum, Kerry (JJ) Thorp, and Michele Radcliffe. She also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews. Peg was an adoring grandmother and leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Robin (Dan) McCollum, with whom she now rests in peace.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, MacDonald Chapel. 315 N. Michigan Ave. Howell, MI 48843. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM.
