Edward John Turbin, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully at his home on July 11, 2024. He was 65 years old.
Born on June 12, 1959 in Saginaw Michigan, Ed was an adored son of the late Clint and Isabelle and grew up in a loving family environment with his siblings: Don (Darlene), Joan, Arlene (Bob), and Clint (Lynn). He lived a fulfilling life marked by his dedication to family, his passion for his craft, and his joy in simple pleasures.
Ed leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his three children: Joe (wife Brittany), Rebecca, and Chris. His pride and joy were his four grandchildren: Reagan, Jett, Jack, and Isabelle, whom he cherished spending time with.
Throughout his life, Ed found happiness in the small pleasures: attending church, a round of golf with friends, enjoying a good glass of wine by the garden, and most of all, being surrounded by his family. His love for Mackinac Island was evident in the stories he shared and the memories he created with those closest to him.
Ed's life profession as a fudge maker was a testament to his commitment to craftsmanship and making people smile. He took great pride in creating delicious treats that brought joy to many, embodying his passion for quality and care in every batch. His face would light up when he saw someone he knew, watching through the glass, visiting from the real world.
Those who knew Ed remember him as a kind-hearted man with a quick wit and a warm smile. Someone who was always looking for his next chance to watch the Tigers, and was always rooting for his football teams. We knew him by his contagious laugh, and the joy it brought to whole rooms.
His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate Ed's life will be held on August 24th on Mackinac Island, details to be distributed later.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Toys for Tots, reflecting Ed's caring and generous spirit.
Ed will forever remain in our hearts as a loving father, doting grandfather, loyal friend, and master fudge maker. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and his memory never forgotten by all who knew him. Smile fondly when you think of him, he has taken the last boat home.

I´ve know Ed over forty years, working with him at the Cleveland IX center. He became a dear friend of mine, always greeted me with a big hug after long breaks in shows! I was still in awe watching him behind the screen making fudge, it never got old. Those times I´ll treasure, knowing that there will be no more! Miss you Ed!! Love Debbie from Cleveland
