Margaret Evelyn Vaughn, 89, passed away on April 12, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Margaret was born on September 14, 1935 in Loraine, Texas. She later moved to Inadale, Texas and attended school in Roscoe, Texas. After school, she began working at West Texas State Bank in Snyder, Texas as a teller. In 1971, Margaret moved to Anchorage, Alaska and joined National Bank of Alaska, where she became branch manager. She then went to Key Bank for a time until finally becoming Vice President of Operations at Northrim Bank of Alaska. Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work, dedication and passion for helping others. After retiring she returned to Roscoe, Texas. Later, moving to Abilene, Texas where she passed at home.
She enjoyed playing piano and played for her local church. She volunteered at the food bank.
Margaret was predeceased by (parents) Homer and Opal Richburg, (brothers) Charles, Don and Jerry Richburg, (husband) Mark Vaughn. She is survived by (sister and brother-in-law) Cindy and Dale Wilson, (daughter) Deborah Lee Vaughn, (son and daughter-in-law) Mark Douglas and Lisa Vaughn (son) Michael Don Vaughn. Margaret has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as a great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held for family and friends at Lone Wolf Cemetery on Friday April 18, 2025 at 2:00pm.
