Margaret Maxine (Terrell) Yell, age 82, passed peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025. She was born on November 9, 1942, to Sam and Florence Terrell in Gore, Oklahoma. Her family settled in Peavine, Oklahoma where she was raised alongside her siblings.

After graduating from Stilwell High School in 1961, Margaret married the love of her life, Glenn Yell, on October 29, 1961. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and farming. Their journey took them from Peavine, Oklahoma to Spearman, Texas, back to Peavine, where they established Spring Valley Dairy. If there were a few things Margaret was known for, it was her work ethic, tenacity and smart wit. With a life rooted in farming, she not only worked alongside Glenn on the dairy, but she also managed their chicken farm, operated a hair salon, worked in her family's grocery store and raised their three children in the midst of it all. It was a legacy built on hard work, love, and constant faith.

Margaret was not only Glenn’s devoted wife but also his steadfast partner. She was a nurturing mother, a tireless worker, and a woman of great strength and deep conviction. To her family, Granny Margaret was tough, thrifty, good-hearted, ornery, smart and hard-working. Whether it was in the kitchen, milk barn, chicken house, garden, on the golf cart, in church or in the sewing room, memories are filled with Granny’s warmth, her laughter, her wit and her joy.

As a lifelong member of Peavine Holiness Church, Margaret’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She served in her church and her community, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where family and friends gathered for meals, laughter, and prayer.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; their infant daughter, Kathleen Dianne; her parents, Sam and Florence Terrell; and her siblings, Hueston and Kathryn.

She is survived by her children: Clinton and his wife Carlene of Peavine, OK; Red and his wife Dianna of Peavine, OK; and Tracy and her husband Jerry of Peggs, OK. She leaves behind her 8 cherished grandchildren Amy Gifford, Jewel Yell, Jacob Yell, Ethan Yell, Taylor Halpain, Emily Prosser, Aaron Halpain and Jacie Yell, and 6 great-grandchildren, Anderson Gifford, Everly Halpain, Lucille Gifford, Fisher Halpain, Caroline Halpain and Hank Gifford who brought immense joy to her life. Margaret is also survived by her brother, Sam Terrell of Stilwell, OK; and her sisters, Pat Vinson of Alma, AR., and Donna Hermreck of Garrett, KS.

Margaret’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with Glenn, tending to the dairy cows in Heaven together.

The Yell family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Stacy Hunnicutt, whose exceptional time, care, and dedication to our Mom and Granny meant more to us than words can express. We are also deeply thankful to Makenzie Farguson, Sherry Golden, Debbie Bodien, and the staff at Go Ye Village for their tremendous support and kindness. In addition, we extend our sincere appreciation to the many family members, lifelong friends, neighbors, and visitors who spent time visiting with our Mom and Granny—your presence and love brought her great joy and comfort, and your compassion touched all of us deeply.
