Margo Garcia Fitch died peacefully August 2025 in Alexandria, VA at the age of 80.

Margo was born in 1944 in Washington, DC and grew up in Belle Haven, Alexandria, VA. She graduated from Groveton High School in 1962. She graduated from Stephen's College with a degree in Elementary Education, and from Cincinnati Bible Seminary with a degree in Christian Education.

After college, she moved to Mechanicsville, VA to teach 2nd Grade at Liberty Christian School. She eventually transitioned to a career in banking operations until her retirement in 1994.

Margo loved to read, had a passion for music and ancestry. If you needed an obscure fact or the words to any song, Margo was the one to call. She loved all Washington DC team sports, travelled extensively with her mother, loved animals and found strength in her religious faith. She was a member of the Chancel Chapter and served as an usher for Christ Church, Alexandria. She was also a member of the Junior Friends.

She is survived by her brother, John (Jayne) and niece, Erin (Stacey). She is preceded in death by her loving father, Ernesto Garcia, her devoted mother, Margaret Ridgely Fitch and adoptive father, John H. Fitch, Sr. Her loving grandparents, Pedro and Esther Garcia (Norwalk, Ohio) also precede her in death.

A memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Margo's honor to Goodwin Living Foundation (goodwinliving.org/foundation) to sponsor musical programming and the team member citizenship program. The family thanks Francois and her caregivers at the View Health Care Center as well as Mariama for their kindness and devoted care to Margo.
