Maria Hebert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Park Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge on Jul. 22, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Maria Eugenia "Jean" Hebert (nee Moreno) was born on January 19, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois. Jean was surrounded by her loved ones when she was called to be with the Lord on July 16, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her beloved and adoring parents, Vicente and Priscilla Moreno, and she is survived by her devoted husband, Scott Hebert, her daughter, Cristina Wilson, son Daniel Hebert, and daughter, Analisa Hebert, her son-in-law Tyler Wilson, grandchildren Bennett and Noah, brothers Alejandro and Pedro Moreno, and sister Maria Tisdale, as well as her nephews Eric, Vincent, and Nicolas Moreno and Alex Tisdale, and niece Andrea Soto, as well as many cousins and great nieces and nephews.
Jean moved with her parents, brothers, and sister to San Antonio, Texas, in 1975. It would be here that she would spend much of her adult life. In San Antonio, she would earn a Bachelor's degree in Education with a certification in Elementary Bilingual Education at the University of Texas at San Antonio – she would later earn a Master of Education degree at Laredo State University – meet her devoted husband, become a decorated elementary school educator, raise her children, and cultivate a circle of close, lifelong friends.
She would step away from teaching to raise her family and build a home, focusing much of her time on the education of her children and their extracurricular activities. In later years, she would devote this same energy to her two grandchildren. Jean was also dedicated to growing and nurturing her faith and devotion to the Catholic Church.
In life, Jean enjoyed nothing more than traveling the world and being surrounded by her loving family. Jean and her family crisscrossed the United States, taking several trips to Europe, and numerous trips to Mexico, where she and Scott were married in 1984, and where the extended Moreno family lived.
Jean loved her family and friends, she loved the church, she loved to travel, and she loved to make others happy. She was a constant source of warmth and compassion, and her inner light was a beacon that always drew others to her side.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with the Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church followed by a Funeral Procession to Mission Burial Park South.
It was Jean's wish that her services be filled with white flowers, and the family asks with gratitude that anyone wishing to send flowers to please try to observe this.
