Maria Pannullo passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024. She was 93.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church, 473 Main Street, Little Falls, NJ 07424. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Friends and relatives may visit on Sunday, February 4th from 4 pm - 7 pm at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls.
Maria was born in Nocera Superiore, Italy and was the youngest of eight children to bless the Lafragola family. At a young age she met Guerino Pannullo and they married in 1952. She was soon busier than ever with three young boys and several years later- alas- a daughter! Her family was complete. She was a remarkable Wife, Mother and Sister and would do anything for her family.
She was our Matriarch and an extraordinary woman who savored the richness of life. With a passion for good food and fine wine, she embraced each moment with persistence and a spirited force that defined her 93 years. She could be stubborn and often deliberate; but always loving and genuine.
She enjoyed trying her luck at the lottery, and always had a coin in hand for a good scratch off. Her Italian soap operas echoed through her home but the sweet sound of children shouting Nonna was her favorite. Although we are saddened by her passing, we remain grateful for her fierce examples of strength and determination she showed in this life. Possa riposare nella pace piu dolce.
Predeceased by her husband Guerino and her seven siblings; she leaves her adored sons Pasquale (Sabina), Vicenzo (Anna), Lucio (Maria); her devoted daughter Rosa Anna Pannullo-Nese (Luigi); her cherished grandchildren Guerino, Maria, Marco, Guerino, Maria and Nicholas Pannullo and Alfredo Nese; seven great grandchildren; and many more loving family and friends.
